Community members are welcome to join Lone Star College-CyFair students and college employees in the nationwide Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of The March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Celebrate with LSC-CyFair from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, starting in the Main Stage Theatre located in the Center for the Arts Building at 9191 Barker Cypress.

The commemoration event will begin with historic March on Washington highlights in the Main Stage Theatre, including the full Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The ceremony will end outside in the amphitheater, where a bell will be rung to “let freedom ring” as will be done in Houston and other nationwide events.
