Lone Star College-Tomball’s Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program is holding a free open house and registration on Saturday, August 24, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The open house will be in LSC-Tomball’s Beckendorf Conference Center, located at 30555 Tomball Parkway in Tomball.
A learning organization for individuals age 50 and over, ALL offers non-credit courses, lectures and social activities for both intellectual and personal growth. The curriculum offers a range of instruction depending on the interest of the members, including topics such as social networking, computers, historical lectures, healthy living, current affairs, and field trips. ALL members help decide future course offerings, help arrange the field trips, and may even teach courses.
“Through the ALL program, we create experiences that enrich the lives of senior adults by providing a wide variety of activities for personal growth. There are a lot tangible membership benefits to our program, but also, our seniors develop friendships within the group that go beyond the program,” said Roy Lazenby, ALL program manager.
At the open house, guests can meet other individuals with common interests and preview the fall 2013 course offerings. Interested guests will also have the opportunity to join ALL program for a $20 annual fee. The membership fee allows ALL members to register for as many courses as they like, in most cases, for no additional supply fee. Enrollment in classes gives ALL members free access to LSC-Tomball’s Wellness Center and on-campus free wireless Internet access.
LSC-Tomball is located off State Highway 249 and Zion Road. For more information about the ALL program at LSC-Tomball, call 281-357-3676, e-mail roy.lazenby@lonestar.edu or visit www.LoneStar.edu/ALL-Tomball.
