On Saturdays, August 10, 17 and 24, Lone Star College-Tomball is extending its registration hours to accommodate the demand of students who still need to finalize their registration for the fall semester.
The advising and counseling area, where students go to register, will be open the three Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the week, registration is open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students should bring a photo I.D. and any transcripts and test scores with them.
In addition to traditional fall courses, LSC-Tomball offers a wide variety of course types and modes of instruction so that, no matter what a student’s schedule is, taking courses can be convenient. LSC-Tomball offers night, weekend, online, hybrid, mini-mester, evening and day courses. Beginning this fall, the college is also adding over 90 “finish early” courses which are completed prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, LSC-Tomball offers courses in the evenings in Magnolia.
The benefits of earning a college certificate or associate degree are many. LSC-Tomball associate degree graduates earn an average of $15,700 more per year than a person with a high school diploma. By 2018, 63 percent of all jobs will require post-secondary education.
