The Actors Workshop, running Feb. 21-23 at Lone Star College-Montgomery, features a short play, Power Lunch by Alan Ball, where a highly ambitious couple battles for power and control of their relationship even though they’ve just met. Tickets are $5. |
“The audience is invited to see our students showcase their artistic talent,” said Chase Waites, drama department chair at LSC-Montgomery. “Allowing the students to create their own work and try it out in front of an audience is the best teaching tool we have. Some of our department’s most exciting work comes out of the Actors Workshop.”
In Power Lunch, a highly ambitious couple battles for power and control of their relationship even though they’ve just met. They are so serious that they even use the wait staff as tools of jealousy. The show contains adult content and language, so parental discretion is advised.
“The short play is produced solely by students,” said Waites. “The scene work is what the students will use as scholarship audition pieces,”
The Actors Workshop will be running in the college’s Performing Arts Center (Building D) in the Black Box Theatre (Room 204). General admission tickets are $5.
