HOUSTON (Dec 17, 2012) – A record 262 golfers participated in the 19th annual Lone Star College Foundation Golf Tournament on Nov. 19 helping to raise nearly $140,000 for Lone Star College student scholarships.
Golfers teed off at both The Woodlands Country Club Palmer and Tournament Courses.
The funds generated through the tournament are used to help students attend LSC and gain the skills necessary to transition to the workforce.
“The Lone Star College Foundation Golf Tournament is about building community, connecting with our donors, and supporting students. We are grateful for this support and the commitment of our community friends to our students,” says Darcy Mingoia, executive director, LSC Foundation. “Additional Lone Star College students will be assisted with tuition and fees as a result of this outstanding show of support by our community partners.”
After participating in a round of golf and trying their luck at the hole-in-one contest sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group, players were treated to lunch sponsored by Abby’s Catering Service.
Insperity was the “Champion” sponsor of the tournament. Other top tournament sponsors were: EMC2 and Kroger at the “Masters” level.
