Three Lone Star College-CyFair students sang and danced for six judges and an audience of more than 360 to win the Lone Star College-CyFair “Masquerade” Eighth Annual Talent Show.
Winning first-place with the dance performance titled “Dance Evolution Mix” was Gabriel Luna, II. Taking second and third respectively, were Matt Gutierrez with beat boxing and Tomachia Jones with her rendition of “All I can do is Cry.” Luna and Gutierrez are both representatives from the Barker Cypress campus and Jones was a representative of LSC-Fairbanks Center.
“This year’s show was a great success from audience attendance to the student participation and variety of talent, which was not only entertaining but so impressive that it was difficult for our judges to only choose three winners,” said Student Life Program Manager Daniel Villanueva. “The show was produced and organized by our student programming board and we’re thankful that members from the video production club, performance troupe, student ambassadors and SOAR club were able to assist us.”
This year’s judges included LSC-CyFair’s Tennis Coach Tim Sebesta, Director of Outreach and Retention Christine Timmerman, Student Government Association Advisor Sony Simon and Matthew Taylor, who teaches speech communications as well as community guests Tashemia Jones of Orion Real Estate Services and Amanda Rose, Student Life Coordinator at San Jacinto College-Central Campus.
