Scott Liebling, at right, recently donated his Student Library Research Award prize check to the Lone Star College-CyFair Political Science Department in honor of Professor Heidi Jo Green, at left, for all her encouragement and support while he was in her class. In turn, faculty members unanimously voted to put the Liebling gift toward an endowment scholarship established in memoriam of another political science professor, Frank Codispoti. In addition, Marian Liebling, center, announced she and her husband are establishing the Didwell-Liebling Opportunity Scholarship in honor of their parents and family and earmarked for students in Government, Political Science and History. The Lieblings, who Dean Jo Fey said are “the epitome of lifelong learners,” said they were inspired to start this scholarship after hearing stories of financial need from students they met on the Legislative Day trip to Austin earlier this year.
