Get into the holiday spirit with an inspiring story of how faith, charity, unselfish love and good deeds can work miracles in Lone Star College-CyFair’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” on stage this November.
Featuring the words and music of Gian-Carlo Menotti, LSC-CyFair’s Lyric Opera presents one of the most popular American operas performed throughout the world during the holiday season.
“Amahl and the Night Visitors” features a poor, crippled shepherd boy, his devoted mother and the knock on the door that changed their lives forever.
“This one-act opera, with its beautiful score and touching libretto performed in English, appeals to all ages and musical backgrounds,” said Alex Qian, LSC-Fair’s artistic director of vocal activities. “It was written specifically for young imaginations relating to children motivated by their dreams.”
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18 and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.
All performances will be held in the Main Stage Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts building on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
