Teens ages 15 to 17 can sign up now for Lone Star College-CyFair’s Teen Driver Education Program.
Classes are held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday April 19 to May 13 at LSC-CyFair located at 9191 Barker Cypress.
With 32 hours of in-classroom instruction, this class will prepare students who wish to get a Texas Driver’s Permit. Parents are responsible for the in-car instruction.
LSC-CyFair’s teen driver education course covers road rules, road signs and laws to prepare the teens for the Department of Public Safety’s written exam. Other topics are car maintenance, effects of drugs and alcohol, laws and penalties for drinking and driving, emergency situations, basic driving procedures, road rage and insurance.
Students are required to purchase the Texas Traffic Safety Education Student Manual, which is available at the campus bookstore.
