Join Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sonia Nazario for her gripping personal perspective on immigration in a March 3 community presentation at Lone Star College-CyFair.
Come hear Nazario’s account of the unforgettable odyssey of a Honduran boy who braves unimaginable hardship and peril to reach his mother in the United States. To evade Mexican police and immigration authorities on his illegal trek, he and other migrants must jump onto and off of moving boxcars they call El Tren de la Muerte – The Train of Death.
Based upon the newspaper series that won her the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing, Enrique’s Journey offers a gripping personal perspective on one of the most challenging and divisive issues today: immigration. With a reporter’s eye to the truth, she humanizes the issue, posing new perspectives that fall on both sides, while offering solutions destined to change the national dialogue on the influx of immigrants and the effect they will have on the state of the nation.
This free community presentation will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 3 in the Main Stage Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts building at 9191 Barker Cypress.
