Unable to register for the standard, 16-week fall semester? No problem! Register for a ‘Second Start’ course at Lone Star College-Montgomery, a convenient alternative for students who can’t begin the semester in the typical fashion or need flexibility in their class schedule.
Second Start courses, which each last anywhere from three to 14 weeks, have start dates beginning in late September all the way through late October. Although the traditional, 16-week fall semester for LSC-Montgomery begins August 30, Second Start courses offer students the ability to register up to the first day of each class. Class work is completed by December or earlier, depending on the particular course.
More than 70 Second Start classes are offered this fall in more than 20 different program areas, including evening, weekend, online, and hybrid courses. Hybrid courses replace some of the classroom instruction with media-enhanced online learning, greatly reducing the amount of time spent on campus.
Just like the traditional 16-week courses, Second Start offerings are designed to help students achieve academic goals set toward workforce certificates, associate’s degrees, or university transfer.
