Lone Star College-Montgomery’s Jazz Ensemble and Combo will perform a free concert on Tuesday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m., on the main stage theatre (Building D). The concert will feature the infectious music of the Swing Era. The audience will be treated to a performance of timeless music from Jazz greats such as Duke Ellington and Miles Davis.
“This concert pays tribute to the great music and artists of the Big Band Swing Era,” said Kris Chapman, director of bands at LSC-Montgomery. “The Jazz ensembles will perform music made famous by iconic jazz bands led by Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. Come join us for an up-beat showcase of great Swing music!”
Swing uses a strong rhythm section and an infectious swing time rhythm. The ensemble will also be featuring outstanding music students at LSC-Montgomery as vocal and instrumental soloists.
