Registration for spring classes begins Nov. 9, at Lone Star College Systems. All colleges in the LSCS system are open enrollment colleges, but before you get started, assessment testing is the recommended first step for anyone starting or re-starting their college career. The test is not pass/fail; it is used to help students choose classes wisely so that they will not enroll in courses that are too easy or too difficult. The assessment test indicates your current skill level–not you’re potential. It is a series of reading, writing and mathematics examinations that lets you and your advisor/counselor work together to help you choose classes that will meet your educational needs.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., LSC-Greenspoint Center is offering free College Assessment at MacArthur High School for the first 100 people to sign up. The assessment test usually costs $29. MacArthur High School is located at 4400 Aldine Mail route, Houston, Texas 77039.
Begin your college career by applying for admissions to college, taking the assessment, and registering for spring classes at LSC- Greenspoint Center. Applicants must pre-register for the assessment by contacting Joyce Wiley at 281.260.3525. Allow 3 to 4 hours for assessment.
Lone Star College System consists of five colleges including LSC-CyFair, LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball, six centers, LSC-University Center, LSC-University Park, Lone Star Corporate College, and LSC-Online.
