The new class is a full academy and will begin Nov. 2 and end Mar. 25. Classes are set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications will be accepted beginning Oct. 1. The academy is located at the system’s Greenspoint Center, 250 N. Sam Houston Parkway E. After successful completion of these courses, a person is eligible to take the state licensing examination to be a Peace Officer.
The program meets the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) requirements for a Peace Officer certification.
