Gary Conners, interim chair for Lone Star College-North Harris art department announced ten recipients of the Lone Star College-North Harris Student Art Scholarship Awards for Spring 2009. To be considered for the scholarships, students submitted original creative pieces in the categories of painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and jewelry making. The scholarships are valued up to $540 depending on the applicants credit hour enrollment. LSC-North Harris Art Scholarship awardees were Hector Arriaga, Jordan Cortes, Jackie Davis, Evelin Gomez, Melanie Hahn, Larissa Hernandez, Maricela Orozco, Karen Ricks, Megan Risbergs, and Antonio Santos.
Lone Star College-North Harris has a wide-variety of scholarships available to students in almost all of the programs of study the college provides. Residents and prospective students interested in attending the college are encouraged to visit the campus' financial aid office to explore scholarship opportunities.
