Lone Star College-North Harris cosmetology program students (shown left to right) Chris Wick, Ashley Henderson, Roxanne Jarvis, Camille Travis and Sarah Coffee, recently showcased their wig-making skills during an on-campus competition among the program’s students.  Wig making and hair extensions are just two of the skills students have to master as part of their one-year certificate course curriculum. The college also offers an associate of applied science degree in cosmetology, a facial specialist certificate and an instructor certificate.

The cosmetology program also operates The Salon at LSC-North Harris, a full-service salon open to area residents ages 12 and older. Prices range from $6 for a haircut to $35 for highlights. Furthermore, the salon offers facials and other expanded services for minimal fees. Summer hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment or walk in.
