Collins 8 Foundation supports Lone Star College skilled trades students through LSC Foundation

Collins Scholarship will help students at LSC-Tomball
The Collins 8 Foundation created the Mark Collins Field of Dreams Scholarship through Lone Star College Foundation to assist students enrolled in a skilled trades program at LSC-Tomball.

The Collins 8 Foundation, the scholarship arm of the Collins Strong Foundation, created the Mark Collins Field of Dreams Scholarship through Lone Star College Foundation to honor Collins’ passion for skilled trades, his unwavering faith and his deep love for his family—including his grandkids, sports and the outdoors. The name reflects both his dedication to hard work and his belief in fostering opportunities for future generations.

“The skilled trades are the backbone of our society. We are honored to partner with Lone Star College Foundation to offer this scholarship in Mark’s name, ensuring that his legacy will continue to uplift individuals seeking practical and sustainable careers,” said Tara Mora with Collins 8 Foundation.

LSC relies on community members and organizations like the Collins 8 Foundation to help students fund their educational goals.

“Lone Star College Foundation looks forward to assisting students in our skilled trades programs thanks to the generosity of the Collins 8 Foundation,” said Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, LSC Foundation executive director. “With their support, our students will have an opportunity to pursue their dream careers without worrying how they will pay for it.”

The Mark Collins Field of Dreams Scholarship will support students pursuing certain degrees and certifications in skilled trades, giving preference to those impacted by tragedy or who attended Tomball High School or Tomball Memorial High School.

‘I love that there is a scholarship honoring my father’s legacy. He was very big on supporting people in licensed trades,” said Chris Collins. “My father was known for his strong belief in the power of hard work and practical education. He understood the immense value of specialized knowledge in skilled trades, believing it could lead to great success.”

Lone Star College Foundation will manage applications for the Mark Collins Field of Dreams Scholarship and eligible students can apply at LoneStar.edu/Giving/ApplyScholarships. Visit Collins8.org for more information on the scholarship.
