You don’t have to drive to another city or even downtown Houston to get a bachelor’s degree in business. Check out the university partnerships and course options at Lone Star College-CyFair that will also save gas money.
A new partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown will give students the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree in general business while taking courses at LSC-CyFair. With hybrid courses (part on-campus/part on-line), advising on the Barker Cypress campus and scholarship opportunities, this is a money-saving option. In addition, there will be several on-the-spot admission days on the Barker Cypress campus this fall.
A previous partnership with UofH-Downtown allowed LSC-CyFair students pursuing an Associate of Arts in Teaching to seamlessly transition into a bachelor’s degree in Urban Education through LSC-CyFair’s Weekend College. Students in the AAT/BAIS inaugural classes are graduating in Summer and Fall 2008.
Offered in block sessions Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoons and Sunday afternoons, Weekend College is a flexible convenient schedule option for students balancing family and job obligations who often are unable to attend traditionally scheduled classes. In addition, a complement of support services is available.
An LSC-CyFair’s partnership with Prairie View A&M University enables students to complete three PVAMU bachelor’s of business administration degrees - finance, management or management information systems – while taking courses on the Barker Cypress campus.
Thanks to the behind-the-scenes work of PVAMU’s Dr. Munir Quddus, College of Business dean and LSC-CyFair’s Feleccia Moore-Davis, dean of Business, Math, Communications and CIT, LSC-CyFair not only transfers both a field of study in business and an associate of applied science in management to the BBA at Prairie View, but the BBA is offered as part of LSC-CyFair’s Weekend College.
Through previous partnerships between the Lone Star College System and Prairie View A&M University as well as the LSCS and the University of Houston-Downtown, the Joint Admission Agreement, individuals are admitted to LSCS and PVAMU or UofH-Downtown simultaneously. Students can then earn credits toward an LSCS associate degree and a PVAMU or UofH-Downtown bachelor’s degree at the same time.
