Lone Star College-Montgomery proudly hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on February 5, 2025, for the new Maverick Care Center, which is located on campus, on the 2nd floor of Building C. This new resource center aims to support students by offering a variety of essential services, including a fully equipped food pantry, a clothing closet with casual and career clothing, and mental health and crisis support resources.

The Maverick Care Center is designed to create a supportive environment that meets the diverse needs of students. Key features include:

• Food Pantry: Stocked with nutritious food options, including a commercial refrigerator and freezer for fresh items, the pantry aims to combat food insecurity among students.
• Clothing Closet: Offering both casual and professional attire, the clothing closet helps students dress for success in both daily life and career-related opportunities. Visitors can check out the Career Closet Pop-Up Shop during special events.
• Lactation Room: A private space dedicated to nursing mothers on campus.
• School Supplies: Essential materials are available to ensure students have what they need to succeed academically.
• Mental Health and Crisis Support Resources: Access to services designed to support the emotional well-being of students.
• Campus and Community Resources: The center also provides access and referral information for local organizations and resources available to support students’ well-being.

The Maverick Care Center invites all students to visit during its hours of operation to learn more about the resources available to them.
