As a vibrant hub for immensely talented students and visiting artists, Lone Star College-CyFair’s Bosque Gallery releases an impressive exhibition lineup this month.
Kicking off the spring schedule is “Epiphany”, a memorial tribute to former art faculty Laura Fisher on display Jan. 30 – Feb. 20.
“All of our art faculty passionately teach students a variety of techniques and skills to express themselves through many different mediums, while inspiring future artists to discover their own style,” said Heather Braman, gallery coordinator. “Laura was one of these well-loved painting instructors who passed too soon, and this show celebrates her life and impact on students, coworkers and the artist community alike.”
Proceeds from art sold at this special exhibition supports student scholarships through The Aspiring Artists Endowment established in her honor.
The next gallery show features visiting artist Robert Dohrmann who uses thrifted paintings and items in his “American Pie Holes” exhibition set Feb. 27 - April 10. Meet the artist and hear what inspires his unique effort to give consumer goods new life at the Feb. 27 opening reception and a Library Art Talk April 10.
The exhibition concludes with LSC-CyFair’s end-of-the-semester Student Art Showcase, a collection of original student artistry April 22 – May 2. Don’t miss the opening reception and awards ceremony to meet the artists and enjoy a unique fashion show of wearable art creations by LSC-CyFair’s design students.
