Comcast donates 100 computers to Lone Star College Foundation to distribute to students

Comcast is working to bridge the digital divide, by awarding 100 computers to Lone Star College Foundation.

Comcast donated the Dell Latitude 3120 Configuration laptops to be distributed to LSC-Kingwood students who are pursuing a technology-related certificate or degree.

“We are incredibly grateful to Comcast for their generous donation of laptops, which will empower our students with the technology they need to succeed,” said LSC-Kingwood President Dr. Melissa Gonzalez. “This partnership highlights the importance of collaboration and together, we are helping our students be successful.”

Michael Olivarez was one of the Kingwood students who received a laptop.

“Receiving the Comcast laptop has been incredibly helpful, especially as a working student in the cybersecurity program. This support has lightened the load for me, allowing me to stay on top of my studies without the financial strain of purchasing a new device.”

“At Comcast, we know that technology is the foundation for success in the digital economy. We are thrilled to help students who experience financial barriers have the full benefits of technology and wish these students all the success in the world,” said Misha McClure, Director of External Affairs, Comcast's Texas Region.

“As a military veteran, I also value the portability and convenience of this laptop,” Olivarez shared. “When I’m out in the field, it allows me to stay connected with my studies and responsibilities seamlessly. Comcast’s support truly makes a difference in balancing my commitments.”
