Seeking unique, limited edition gifts this holiday season? Come shop at Lone Star College-CyFair’s second-annual Holiday Art Sale and the end-of-the-semester Student Art Showcase.
“With the success of our first Holiday Art Sale last fall, we have doubled the opportunities for art lovers to shop for unparalleled artistry while supporting our uniquely talented student artists,” said Kelley Eggert, LSC-CyFair ceramics professor and sale coordinator. “This sale provides a public venue where our students can show and sell their exceptional work.”
The majority of sale proceeds go directly to these emerging student artists with a percentage of all purchases earmarked to help fund the college’s visual and performing arts special programs and charitable events, Eggert added.
Finish your gift shopping with what are sure to be conversation pieces found in this year’s two-day art sale. There will be original creative works by students as well as some faculty inspirations.
Several artists will be on hand to visit about their inspired pieces at this sale set Dec. 3-Dec.4 from 12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Center for Academic and Student Engagement (CASE) Room 114-116.
In addition to the December Holiday Art Sale, unique and award-winning artwork will be available to view and purchase during the Art Department’s semi-annual Student Art Showcase. The best student work in two- and three-dimensional design, photography, ceramics, drawing, painting and color theory will be on display in the Bosque Gallery Nov. 21 through Dec. 6.
Join the 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 opening reception and awards ceremony to meet and visit with these student artists about their creations from the potter’s wheel and kiln, the painter’s palette and canvas, the camera lens and much more.
