What better way to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Lone Star College-Kingwood than with a little bit of “rock and roll music” from the award-winning Beatles tribute band, Beetle.
The band will perform a free concert on the campus in November. They will play songs from the album “Beatles for Sale” but also requests.
LSC-Kingwood History Professor Steve Davis teaches classes on the Beatles and the cultural impact they had in the past and even today.
“The Beatles were the greatest band, hands down, of all time. I am so excited that this wonderful tribute band, Beetle, will play a show on the LSC-Kingwood campus. It will be an evening of great music and an opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of our college in the Fall of 1984. I hope a huge crowd can come to listen, sing along, and even dance to these wonderful songs!”
“We study and appreciate the historical, social, and cultural importance of the Beatles,” said David Persails, retired educator and current student at LSC-Kingwood. “But listening to their music brings it to life. A live performance of their music in the hands of very capable musicians like Beetle is a perfect expression, salute, and celebration of that. A Beetle concert is a shared experience all can enjoy.”
LSC-Kingwood student Nate Graham is a huge fan of the band. “I have seen them many times, and the show is always fun, rockin' and a blast!! So bring a friend and check it out!”
“Beetle” will play in the Band Hall (Music 118) at Lone Star College-Kingwood, 20000 Kingwood Drive, on Wednesday, November 13th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert is completely free and open to the community.
