Nearly 230 individuals will play 18 rounds of golf at Lone Star College Foundation’s 31st annual Drive for Scholarships Golf Tournament Monday, Nov. 18 at The Woodlands Country Club. The proceeds will help fund student scholarships and educational programs.
“The golf tournament has become not only a great source of support for Lone Star College students but also a long-held tradition with many of our sponsors returning year after year,” said Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, LSC Foundation executive director. “We are so grateful to our community partners for their generous support of our students.”
Individuals and businesses can still participate in the following sponsorship and underwriting opportunities:
- The Palmer Course is at maximum capacity. There is a foursome spot available on the Tournament Course.
- Beverage Cart and Contest Underwriter slots are available on both courses.
- Sign up for a Golf Clinic for $250, which includes lunch and a two-hour golf clinic with a pro from The Woodlands Country Club. There will be three flights, one for ladies only and the other two are co-ed.
“Investing in the golf tournament will generate scholarships through Lone Star College Foundation to support students’ goals of earning an education and workforce skills needed to succeed in their chosen industry,” said Robinson Gauthier.
Lone Star College Foundation is grateful to Chesmar Foundation for serving as the Tournament Sponsor.
“Chesmar Foundation is proud to partner with Lone Star College Foundation in supporting student scholarships, which ultimately helps our community grow,” said Don Klein, Chesmar Foundation president. “We know that education is the key to success, and we are thrilled to help make it a reality for hard-working LSC students.”
The Drive for Scholarships Golf Tournament will include a shotgun start with hole-in-one, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, chipping and putting contests. A dinner and awards ceremony will follow the event. Proceeds will fund tuition scholarships, student emergency aid and on-campus meal vouchers for students in need.
