A group of 12 process engineers from the PetroSkills company in Kuwait got an up close and hands-on tour of the LSC-Kingwood Process Technology Center last month.
Out of the entire country, the company selected the Process Technology Center to visit.
“PetroSkills has been a leader in developing competent and well-rounded technicians and engineers in the petro-chemical industry,” said Dean Roger Chambers. “We at the Process Technology Center are honored to be chosen as a site for them to invite their clientele to visit for a holistic learning experience. This relationship inspires us to continue the work to make our program and center a standard for process and instrumentation technology instruction in our extended service area.”
The engineers toured the facility, with expertise offered by Process Tech faculty and staff members. They were able to engage with the instruments, ask questions, and dive into details with regards to the industry.
Ron Frend, Vice President of The Competency Alliance, who was responsible for bringing the group, said they were very impressed with what they observed and experienced.
“We've brought in 12 process engineers who were already well versed in the industry and when we looked around the facility, we were extremely impressed with the way the Lone Star technology centers are really working. These guys have come away with more experience, a better understanding of what's happening in the equipment, and a really good feeling and a very good impression on the whole college experience.”
“We came here to visit this college and we saw many interesting places such as the lab and facility outside,” remarked Nawaf Haidar, one of the engineers in the group. “We had a good knowledge and experience since we came and visited this place.”
