The Center for the Arts season includes must-see instrumental and vocal concerts, theatre productions and gallery exhibitions.

Whether you are a fan of the dramatic, the interpretive or the musical, the Center for the Arts at Lone Star College-CyFair is the place to attend the must-see visual and performing arts in Cy-Fair.

The fall schedule showcasing the artistry and creativity of the college’s students, faculty and staff as well as visiting artists, begins with the unique talent shared in the Bosque Gallery. Dario S. Bucheli's "Apariciones", a narrative on the immigrant experience, will be on display Aug. 29 – Sept. 26 followed with Lauren Kussro’s “Abide”, a reflection on environmental preservation, Oct. 3 – Nov. 7. LSC-CyFair’s end-of-the-semester Student Art Showcase highlights the best original works created by the college’s student artists Nov. 21 - Dec. 6. For gallery exhibition information, go to LoneStar.edu/BosqueGallery

“Each exhibition opening reception is a unique opportunity to meet student and visiting artists as well as discuss their inspired and creative artwork,” said Joshua Estrada, Fine Arts Coordinator. “And you don’t want to miss the immense talent of our student actors, vocalists and musicians, in a myriad of amazing shows sure to impress.”

The performing arts schedule includes a drama, “The Revolutionists”, Oct. 10-19 and a radio play, “A 1940s Christmas Carol”, Nov. 7-16, while the Music Department has multiple choral and instrumental concerts in the works October through December.

This season also features a new “Discovery Recital Series” that brings an exciting violinist and piano duo Oct. 8, operatic vocal faculty Oct. 21 and guitarist and string quartet Nov. 1 to the LSC-CyFair stages. For performing arts event and ticket information, go to LoneStar.edu/boxoffice.

There are additional opportunities to enjoy an afternoon of all things visual and performing arts featuring the talented students of drama, music, art and creative writing. Save the dates Sept. 27, Oct. 25 and Nov. 22, for the free monthly Fine Arts Showcase 1 p.m. events.
