Brittany Rodriguez, a Houston native and Aldine High School graduate from 2008, never dreamed that she would be working in the medical field. Thanks to LSC-North Harris, that is exactly what she is doing.
“Growing up, college or furthering my education was not something instilled in me,” Rodriguez said. “I was 18 years old working a decent job, living on my own, and paying my own bills. I felt satisfied with that lifestyle.”
One day, while doing some research on continuing her education, Rodriguez came across Lone Star College-North Harris’ Continuing Education courses.
“I felt that for me and my already busy life, these courses would be perfect for me,” Rodriguez said. “I could receive a certificate in a small amount of time that could potentially open even more doors for me.”
In December 2022, Rodriguez completed her Continuing Education courses and currently works as a medical assistant and phlebotomist in a primary care clinic, proving it is never too late to continue your education and start a promising career.
Continuing Education at LSC-North Harris consists of fast-track certificates or courses to quickly train students for a high-demand job. Classes are offered at convenient times to fit your schedule, including day, evening, weekends, online, and hybrid classes, and a variety of certificates can be completed in six months or less.
Continuing Education also offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High school Equivalency Test Preparation (GED), Academy for Lifelong Learning (a program for seniors 50+) and LifePath (a program for students with cognitive learning disorders).
