Lone Star College Academy for Lifelong Learning will host several Open House events for current and prospective members.

Michelle Matlage looked forward to retirement after teaching elementary school for 33 years, but she did not have a plan. A chance meeting led her to the Lone Star College Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program.

“I began wondering how to start my next chapter when I met a friendly lady at Discount Tire who told me about Lone Star College’s ALL program,” said Matlage, LSC-Tomball ALL member. “I was so excited, surprised and thankful to God for the opportunity to learn about this program. I enrolled in 2023 and I’m enjoying every minute of it.”

The LSC ALL program offers classes for retired, semi-retired and working adults aged 50 and older. Members can access over 100 courses to help them learn and grow, boosting their mental, physical and self-esteem.

“As an ALL member, I’ve found the classes incredibly beneficial and it has been such a pleasure to make new friends," said Matlage. “I am learning from excellent and delightful experts in their fields and enjoying various discounts and access to field trips, libraries and fitness training centers.”

Senior Lifestyle reports that 82% of seniors want to continue their education because they enjoy learning, while 75% do it for personal fulfillment. LSC ALL program invites current and prospective members to attend one of the following Open House events to learn more about what they offer.
