Have you ever dreamed it was possible to be awarded over $2 million in scholarships and financial aid? For one Houston-area student, this dream is a reality.
Born and raised in Houston, Briseida Sanchez is a recent graduate of Avalos Pathways in Technology School who, as a Dual Credit student, also earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree for Paralegal Studies from Lone Star College-North Harris. At just 17, the first-generation student has not only been awarded the money she needs to attend the university of her choice, but she also has her pick of 18 schools.
“I got automatic admission to the University of Houston, Texas A&M, the University of Texas at Austin, Vassar College, and Colgate University,” Sanchez shared. “Ultimately, I decided to commit to the University of Pennsylvania.”
Sanchez’s immediate plans are to learn about as many areas of law as possible so she can decide which area she would like to practice in the future. Her goal is to give back to the community and give them a voice by being their advocate. For now, Sanchez is determined to do her best and take one day at a time.
