Experience opera at Lone Star College-CyFair with “Gianni Schicchi” May 7 through May 9.
“The third of the trio of operas known as II Trittico by Puccini, Gianni Schicchi is a delightful satire on the deadly sin of greed,” said Alex Qian, music director and conductor.
LSC-CyFair’s Opera Workshop performs this story about the death of an extremely wealthy Buoso Donati, his money-grubbing relatives, the local monks who are the beneficiary of the will and Schicchi, who implements a devious plan to con them out of the inheritance.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. and a reception follows the May 9 show.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students with valid ID. Preview night is May 7 and tickets are $5.
The Main Stage Theatre is located in the Center for the Arts at the Barker Cypress campus, 9191 Barker Cypress.
