The Fifth Annual Emergency Services Chili Cook-Off, set 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at Lone Star College-CyFair, is a fund-raising event that includes something for everyone in the family.

Among the attractions throughout the day are children’s contests and games, live entertainment, raffle, Life Flight demonstrations and the Firefighter Combat Challenge, which tests the cadets’ skills in various competitions.

And of course, community members who think they have a winning chili recipe can participate in the chili cook-off. Sign up to compete in the “Best” and “Wurst” chili as well as a variety of other categories. For $3 a cup, community members can be one of the judges, tasting all the entries and voting on the winners.

All proceeds benefit the LSC-CyFair Emergency Services Scholarship Fund. Shuttle service will be provided from the Barker Cypress campus parking lot to the Emergency Services Education Center parking lot.
