Come hear first-hand about the benefits and rewards of a career in Information Technology during a speaker series titled “Diversity in the IT Field” this April at Lone Star College-CyFair.
“Technology is one of the fastest growing and constantly evolving industries in the country. Our society made great technological advances in the 20th century, with a large amount of knowledge contributed by minorities,” said Kimberly Hubbard, LSC-CyFair Computer Information Technology professor. “Today with the blossoming global economy structure, staying on the cutting edge of technology is more important than ever.”
This spring speaker series features three minority guest speakers, who have had successful careers in the technology field.
Dr. Denise Chatam, Lone Star College-CyFair Dean of Technology and Institutional Research will speak at 10 a.m. April 8 in the Conference Center, room 151; Janine Mahone, product manager with Symantec, at 1:30 p.m. April 9 in Technology Building, room 111 and Christopher Powe, business systems analyst with BP, at 11 a.m. April 11 in the Conference Center, room 151.
All presentations will be held on the Barker Cypress campus at 9191 Barker Cypress.
