Lone Star College-Montgomery is committed to fostering neurodiversity awareness within the Hispanic community by promoting recognition, acceptance, and inclusion of students with autism and other disabilities. On April 18th, from 6 to 8 p.m., LSC-M will host “Connecciones Transformadoras. Navegando Disabilidades Cognitivas en los Estados Unidos” (Transformational Connections: Navigating Cognitive Disabilities in the US). This event, primarily conducted in Spanish, is designed for neurodiverse individuals, community members, service providers, and others who support the Hispanic community in our area.

Our distinguished guest speaker, Josephine Avila, Psy.D., will deliver a 30-minute presentation, followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives from Lone Star College, Conroe ISD, Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare, and Communities in Schools.

Lone Star College provides invaluable support to neurodiverse students through the lifePATH program. lifePATH® is dedicated to assisting students in developing independence, exercising self-determination, understanding college-level academic expectations, honing social skills, and exploring career opportunities.

Prospective lifePATH students and community members are cordially invited to attend the annual Gallery Walk on Friday, May 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. During this event, students will showcase their learning experiences and projects they have been diligently working on throughout the past year.
