Lone Star College-Cypress Center’s upcoming Jan. 30 Open House provides an opportunity to discover where knowledge meets inspiration and leads to career success.
Attend this event for an immersive look into the fields of Engineering Design, Industrial Electronics, Machining and Welding with guided tours of the building, classrooms and state-of-the-art labs.
Stop by the resource fair, get admissions information and explore the diverse educational paths available for both academic courses that transfer to four-year universities as well as workforce certificate and degree programs.
Visit in person with center graduate and instructor Tim Arbeiter, who, after earning his Associate of Applied Science in Machining Technology in 2017, was recruited to be the first and only machine programmer at Rampart Products where he worked five years before returning to LSC-Cypress Center’s Machining Technology Department as faculty.
Meet with representatives from Rampart Products and other employer partners, who are hiring the center’s program graduates.
Learn about the LSC-Cypress Center program experiences of alumni featured on Cy’s Spotlight page like Arbeiter (November 2023 spotlight), Alejandro Alvarez (August 2021 spotlight) and Andrew Granger (September 2021 spotlight).
Alvarez, who took a more academic-focused path, graduated Magna Cum Laude with his AAS degree in Welding Technology in 2013 and went on to earn a bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. in Welding Engineering. Granger graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2019 with both the Industrial Electronics Technology program’s Field Service Technician Certificate and AAS degree, accepted a part-time internship as a flight simulator technician and was working full-time in five months.
Invest time in your future and join the center staff between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. for an educational experience like no other at this family-friendly open house. For event information, go to LoneStar.edu/Falcons.
