Bring the family for an inspiring evening of traditional Christmas holiday music at a special choral charity concert performed while a painting is created live on stage Dec. 1 at Lone Star College-CyFair.
“As we welcome back the holiday season with splendor, our eyes are glowing with festive decorations around town,” said LSC-CyFair Paulo Gomes, Director of Vocal Division and Choral Activities. “Yes, it is the most wonderful time of the year, and we would be delighted to have you join us for our ‘Sounds of Wonder’ concert to celebrate the season.”
This year’s holiday choral performance features the college’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers as well as a clarinet choir consisting of Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District students from Sprague, Spillane and Smith Middle Schools.
While immersed in the “Sounds of Wonder”, attendees will watch as a musically-inspired student artist Angelica Cruz, whose painting won Best in Show in LSC-CyFair’s Student Art Showcase this past spring, creates another one-of-a-kind painting live on stage. This unique piece will be up for silent auction until midnight to help raise funds for LSC-CyFair’s Society for the Arts, which directly supports the visual and performing arts student programs.
