Around 40 universities will be setting up shop at LSC-Kingwood for the upcoming Career & Transfer Fair.
Representatives from the colleges will be on hand to help walk students through the transfer process so they can move forward in their educational journeys.
“Having universities showcase their admissions process and programs really helps our students make that final decision about transferring,” said Dr. Luis Lucio, Executive Director of Special Projects. “It is also great that students get to see all the universities at once here at Lone Star College-Kingwood.”
Universities from both in-state and out-of-state will be represented, including UHD, Texas State University, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and the University of St. Thomas.
Frida Hernandez-Flores is working on her education degree. “I am very interested in seeing all the different universities that will be visiting for our transfer fair,” she said. ‘It’s very helpful for students to become familiar with the people at their future university.”
The transfer process can sometimes be overwhelming for students, so LSC-Kingwood wants to make sure the process is a smooth as possible.
The campus also boasts a Career & Transfer Center, which helps students with transitions such as:
- The transfer to 4-year university programs
- The transition directly into the workforce
- Transfer from another institution into Lone Star College
The Fall Career & Transfer Fair will take place Thursday, November 9th from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the SCC Atrium.
