LSC-Montgomery Dual Credit
Overview of Dual Credit
Dual Credit presents a remarkable opportunity for high school students to simultaneously earn both high school and college credits. Students who exhibit college readiness, as assessed through a college placement exam, can embark on a unique journey to acquire college and high school credits within the same course. This dual-credit experience is accessible through classes offered at their high school, on a Lone Star campus, or conveniently online.
Lone Star College's collaborative efforts extend to independent school districts, charter schools, private schools, and homeschooling parents, enabling us to provide a diverse array of courses. These encompass essential subjects in the core curriculum, foreign languages, and specialized workforce education. This comprehensive approach ensures that students have the flexibility to tailor their educational path to align with their passions, interests, and future career goals.

Approved Dual Credit Courses
Determination that a college course meets the high school TEKS/learning outcomes for a particular high school course is the responsibility of the school district or private/charter/home school. The Lone Star College does not identify courses as meeting any particular TEA requirements for high school graduation. All decisions regarding a student's high school graduation plan should be determined by their school counselor/administrator. Offering a dual credit course remains the decision of each Independent School District. A course that is listed does not automatically grant an ISD approval to offer a course.
