1. Attend Homeschool Information Session – see dates and RSVP above
2. Complete LSC Admissions Application through ApplyTexas
**IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR APPLY TEXAS ADMISSIONS APPLICATION** -- SELECT THE "NON-DEGREE SEEKING" OPTION WHEN COMPLETING THE ADMISSIONS APPLICATION

Student's Lone Star 7-digit ID number will be assigned upon completion of the ApplyTexas admissions application (generally within 24 to 48 hrs.).
Student's Lone Star email address (Get Lone Star College Student Email Address) will be created upon completion of the ApplyTexas admissions application.

4. Testing:
Option 1: See other qualifying assessment scores for Dual Credit
- Request to send official score report to Lone Star College via College Board or ACT (may take up to two weeks)
Option 2: Placement Testing with the Texas Success Initiative (TSIA2)
To set up Testing either In-Person or Virtual, please follow the steps below:
- Please complete and submit the Homeschool Test Request form, click here to access the form: Dual Credit Testing Request Form.
- Upon receipt of the completed Testing Request Form, our office will process your testing request. We will process each request in the order that it is received.
- You will receive a follow up email from CF-DCHomeschool@lonestar.edu that will contain information regarding completing the PAA (Pre-Assessment Activity) and the next step in setting up your test date and time.
- If you do not receive follow up email from the Homeschool Dual Credit Department within 24 to 48 hrs. (business days), please call or email our office.
- All Testing is available in-person by appointment ONLY, at this time the Testing Department is not taking any walk-ins for testing. If you would like to take any placement exam remotely, you can choose to do so, we are using a 3rd party company to proctor our virtual placement exams. There is a $25 administration fee for each test administered through the third part vendor. You must have access to a webcam and microphone in order to test remotely.
- *Please note: The initial test fee is waived for high school/homeschool students taking the TSIA2 for Dual Credit enrollment. Retesting costs: $10 for ELAR multiple choice only or Essay only if retesting; $10 for Math only.
- **Photo ID will be required.
- Complete Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA)
- Optional: Attend TSIA2 Review Session
To set up Testing either In-Person or Virtual, please follow the steps below:
- Choose In-Person Testing or Virtual Testing.
- Virtual Testers -- Schedule your appointment date and time using the link below. *Please be advised there is a $25.00 service fee for Virtual Testing, plus a fee for TSIA2 or AVANT Re-Test.
- In-Person Testers -- Schedule your appointment date and time using the links below:

- In-Person at Cypress Center (Clay Road) - Testing Request
5. Prepare documents for upcoming semester
- A homeschool transcript must be submitted at the time of registration for course(s) each semester.
- Homeschool Transcript Sample
- Homeschool Transcript Template
- Transcript must include:
- Student's name
- Student's date of birth
- Homeschool name
- Expected graduation date
- Transcript print date
- Principal's signatures
- Courses completed thus far arranged by academic year, grade level, semester, and grades
- A graduation plan of study must be submitted at the initial time of registration.
- Homeschool Graduation Plan Sample

- Graduation Plan must include:
- Student's name.
- Homeschool name
- Graduation plan print date
- Principal's signature
- Courses left to complete to graduate high school arranged by academic year, grade level, semester, and expected date of graduation
6. Registering for and Dropping/Swapping Classes
Registering for classes:
- Search for classes
- Complete Dual Credit Course Approval Form
- View Example Course Approval Form
- When completing your Course Approval Form, list your 1st option, 2nd option, and 3rd option for each class.
- Submit to Homeschool DC Department via the Homeschool Documents Form
Dropping/Swapping Classes
- Complete Schedule Change Form
- Submit to Homeschool DC Department via the Homeschool Documents Form
Dual Credit Students:
Are not Able to Self-Register!
Are not Able to Self-Drop from Classes!
All Dual Credit Enrollment, Schedule Changes and Drops, will be processed by the Dual Credit Department.
7. Uploading Required Documentation
Upload all necessary homeschool registration documents using the Homeschool Documents Form
8. Pay your Tuition via your Student Portal

***If enrolling after the payment deadline, payment must be made within 24 hrs. of enrollment to avoid being dropped for non-payment***

9. Textbooks
Purchase textbooks and other course materials from the campus bookstore in new, used, rental, and e-book formats.
*Dual Credit Students Must Maintain a Grade of C or better in all college courses completed for dual credit. *
