Lone Star College-Houston North - A college of and for the community
No Matter What Your Why, Our Why Is You.
Since its founding in 2019, Lone Star College-Houston North has transformed from a bold vision into a dynamic educational community dedicated to addressing student success disparities within the Lone Star College system. Originally launched with three sites, the campus was designed to support student achievement through a unique model focused on 8-week courses, personalized mentoring for first-time college students, small class sizes, and comprehensive wraparound services.
A key strength of LSC-Houston North lies in its partnerships, particularly with Fallbrook Church, where Pastor Michael Pender's support enabled the development of the college's fourth site. Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, enrollment has grown by over a thousand students, driven by strong connections with local schools and an unwavering commitment to student success. Serving a diverse student body, with 90% identifying as Black, Hispanic, or Asian and nearly half receiving financial aid, the campus has achieved double-digit gains in course success rates and is on track to meet its ambitious goal of a 25% three-year graduation rate by 2025.
