The Lone Star College System announced that a possible Harris County ballot error occurred (for more information, please visit here). The System is requesting all legally available data from the Harris County Clerk. In the interim, the Harris County Clerk will publish the November 5, 2024: General and Special Elections Live, Unofficial Results here (Harris Votes). The results are published by precinct (when clicking on the Precinct Reporting icon). Currently, Harris Votes is showing all 400 Lone Star College precincts in both District 1 and District 2. 

Only 54 precincts comprise District 1, and only 66 precincts comprise District 2. District 1 and District 2 vote count totals should therefore only include vote counts for those 54 and 66 precincts, respectively. District boundaries and precinct lists are available here.

The table below shows vote counts—as updated on Harris Votes—for those 54 and 66 precincts only, with some caveats. Specifically, you will note a tab labeled “split precinct.” Of the 54 District 1 precincts, seven are split (i.e., the precinct encompasses more than one district). Of the 66 District 2 precincts, 10 precincts in Harris County are split. Although the System is requesting data from these split precincts, as of the time this website is published, the split precinct data is not District-specific. In other words, the Harris Votes data for these precincts overrepresents vote counts because a portion of the split district includes voters from non-contested districts. The System is therefore showing vote counts for split districts below as zero.

The System is tracking the available precinct data below to ascertain if it can determine that a candidate received the majority of votes of eligible voters. If the data below is inconclusive, the System will seek court guidance as regards next steps.

Please note the data below is being manually updated as Harris Votes updates its live results. A lag may occur between Harris Votes updates and the numbers below being updated. We anticipate having the first update sometime after 7:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024.
