Founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, Alpha Phi Alpha is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American men. The fraternity was founded by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of brotherhood among African descendants in this country. Alpha Phi Alpha has been instrumental in the fight for civil rights and has produced notable members such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Thurgood Marshall.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated has strove to make an impact on our communities by embodying its motto, “First of all, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.” Through its service, it has created both special initiatives and national programs. Some initiatives include partnerships with Big Brother/Big Sisters of America, Boy Scouts of America, Peace Corps, and the creation of College Life to Corporate Life Initiative. Its programs encompass various aspects to support the community. Some of these programs are A Voteless People is a Hopeless People (VHPH), Go to High School - Go to College, and Project Alpha.

Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first Greek-letter sorority established by African American college women, was founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University in Washington, D.C. The sorority was founded by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle and a group of sixteen women who were determined to create a support network for women with like minds and similar goals. Alpha Kappa Alpha has a rich history of service and has been involved in numerous educational and health initiatives.

Since its founding, service and sisterhood have been cornerstones of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Through the organization’s current administration, there are five initiatives that are designed to improve the lives of the communities they serve. These initiatives are: empower our families, build our economic wealth, enhance our environment, advocate for social justice, and uplift our local community. The initiatives support programs and partnerships such as Youth Leadership Institute, supporting women entrepreneurs, waste reduction, public policy forums, and local community service grants.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority offers need and merit-based scholarships, fellowships, and endowments to undergraduate and graduate students. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated was founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The fraternity was established by ten African American men who sought to create a fraternity that would foster achievement in every field of human endeavor. Kappa Alpha Psi is known for its "Guide Right" program, which provides mentorship and support to young men. The fraternity has a legacy of producing leaders in various fields.

Since its founding, Kappa Alpha Psi has expanded its reach to 425 undergraduate chapters. The organization spearheads projects such as Kappa Kamp, Kappa League, and Diamonds in the Rough to support the development and enrichment of youth. Other projects include the Achievement Academy, which focuses on providing assistance with graduate school, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital partnership, and CARE “Credit Abuse Resistance Education Program” to serve the greater community.

Kappa Alpha Psi established its Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation to identify and invest in opportunities that engage today’s generation of young people in leading the social, economic, and educational transformation of underserved and underrepresented communities throughout the nation and global community. Founded on November 17, 1911, at Howard University, Omega Psi Phi is the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically Black college. The fraternity was founded by three students and their faculty advisor, Dr. Ernest Everett Just. Omega Psi Phi is known for its commitment to community service and has been involved in numerous social action programs. Notable members include Langston Hughes and Michael Jordan.

Since its humble beginnings on the Howard University campus, the Omega Psi Phi fraternity continues to be on the front line, leveraging its power, influence and more than 100 years of commitment to the uplift of our people and our communities. Programs such as the Charles Drew Blood Drive, partnership with American Diabetes Association, the STEM initiative, Habitat for Humanity, and voter registration support the growth and development of communities.

Delta Sigma Theta was founded on January 13, 1913, at Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women who wanted to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The sorority has a long history of public service, including participation in the Women's Suffrage March in 1913. Delta Sigma Theta has been involved in various initiatives, including educational development and international awareness. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.

Since its founding in 1913 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence, all Americans. Over the years, a wide range of programs addressing education, health, international development, and strengthening of the African American family have evolved. In realizing its mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated provides an extensive array of public service initiatives through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of: Economic Development, Education Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health, and Political Awareness & Involvement.

Phi Beta Sigma was founded on January 9, 1914, at Howard University by three young African American male students. The fraternity was established on the principles of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. Phi Beta Sigma is known for its commitment to social action and has been involved in numerous community service projects. Notable members include George Washington Carver and John Lewis.

Over its one hundred plus years of existence, the Fraternity has focused on improving the global community through dedicated service. This focus has compelled the development of the organization’s four main programs: Bigger and Better Business, Education, Social Action and Sigma Beta Clubs. The organization’s partnerships with the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Boy Scouts of America, and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund are examples of its efforts to address societal ills, including health disparities and educational and developmental challenges for people of all backgrounds.

Zeta Phi Beta was founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University by five women who believed in the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. The sorority has a strong focus on community service and has been involved in various health and education initiatives. The five founders envisioned a sorority that would directly affect positive change, chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond, raise people’s consciousness, encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement, and foster a greater sense of unity among its members.

Since its inception, Zeta has continued its steady climb into the national spotlight with programs designed to demonstrate concern for the human condition both nationally and internationally. Zeta’s national and local programs include the endowment of its National Educational Foundation community outreach services and the support of multiple affiliate organizations. Zeta chapters and auxiliaries have given untotaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote social and civic change legislation. Zeta members support their communities through programs such as adopt-a-school, elder care, its long-standing partnership with the March of Dimes, and autism awareness.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded on November 12, 1922, at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven school teachers. The sorority was established to enhance the quality of life within the community through public service, leadership development, and education of youth. Sigma Gamma Rho has a rich history of service and has been involved in numerous health and education initiatives.

Since its founding, Sigma Gamma Rho has had a proud history of providing positive and proactive community outreach nationally and internationally. The sorority partners with corporations, businesses, and foundations to help fulfill its programmatic goals. These partnerships include entities such as Aflac, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the National Urban League. It also has programs such as Operation BigBookBag, Swim 1922, and Project Cradle Care to support targeted issues in our communities.

Sigma Gamma Rho offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students studying in a variety of fields who demonstrate financial need. Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated was founded on September 19, 1963, at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, during the height of the civil rights movement. The fraternity was established by twelve men who sought to create a unique and inclusive brotherhood. Iota Phi Theta is known for its commitment to social justice and community service. The fraternity has been involved in various initiatives, including voter registration drives and educational programs. The fraternity's purpose is "the development and perpetuation of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood among Men."

Through its steadfast commitment to service, Iota Phi Theta is making a positive impact within our communities. The fraternity has created initiatives focusing on health through partnerships with the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation, Birches Heath & Good Health Wins, and the American Red Cross. They have also worked to promote financial literacy with partnerships with JP Morgan Chase & Small Business Association and the Minority Business Development Center. The S.H.I.E.L.D "IOTAS Saving, Healing, Improving, Empowering Lives Daily" focuses on addressing Human Trafficking, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Elder Abuse and Child Abuse/Bullying
