Briana Garcia My name is Briana Garcia and as a fellow Houstonian I'm very excited to return to LSC- Cyfair as a full-time workforce advisor. I'm happy to reconnect with my old campus as a staff member since graduating from this campus in 2019 with my Associates of Arts. Ever since I left campus, I've gone to complete my bachelor's in history and a master's in criminal justice from University of Houston - Downtown. I've always enjoyed interacting with all the staff, faculty and students present on campus and it led me to return to continue growing the positive impact this campus provided to me during my time as a student. I'm proud to be welcomed back to a campus that did so much for me and allowed me to make myself and my family proud as a first-generation college student. I have fond memories of my time here with clubs offered on campus and the school events I either volunteered for or visited. I wish to do well here and hope to lay down roots to soon become a faculty member that all students and staff are proud to interact with. LSC- Cyfair is an engaging campus that is actively working to assist its students and staff with anything they need. I look forward to my time here and to the long-lasting relationships I will create with those I encounter. Go Falcons!

Ellen Junious Through teaching at Lone Star College, I truly found my joy. I love experiencing the richness of diversity of all my students. My background in business, technology, financial services, and healthcare, supports me in making a difference in the lives of our students. I believe every student matters. One of the reasons I chose the teaching profession, more specifically workforce education, is to encourage positive and effective interpersonal skills, ethical business practices, and to ensure that our future generation of leaders are well equipped to make good choices that lead to a fulfilled life. In my classroom, I promote values such as authenticity, integrity, trust, and honesty for these are my personal values that I bring to every relationship. According to Grayson Kirk, “The most important function of education at any level is to develop the personality of the individual and the significance of his or her life to him or herself and to others."

Melinda Becker I love marketing, and I’m sure that shows in class. It gets the students excited about marketing. Marketing is so pervasive in our society, the class always has examples they want to share in class. I listen to every story with great interest, as does the rest of the class. Then we see how that affects their lives. They are amazed at what they learn along the way. And they never cease to amaze me with their input. I’ve been here 20+ years, and they still cease to amaze me class after class.
