Bosque Gallery is seeking ready to hang artworks for a juried exhibition celebrating the life and impact of Laura Fisher, a well-loved painting professor who passed away too soon. All proceeds from art sold will go to fund The Aspiring Artists Endowment in honor of Laura Fisher.

Event Overview
PURPOSE: The art show is a tribute to Laura Fisher, celebrating her life and impact. Proceeds from the event will go to fund The Aspiring Artists Endowment in her honor.
PARTICIPANTS: The event is open to all faculty and staff from Lone Star College-Cyfair.
ARTWORK: Each participant can submit up to 2 pieces. Submissions must be ready-to-hang, 2D or ready-to-display 3D Artworks.
Size Requirements:
2D – Pieces should be no larger than 36” in one direction.
3D – Pieces requiring a pedestal should be no larger than 19” on one side. Pieces displayed on the wall or on the ground should not exceed 30” in one direction.
*Special size considerations should be emailed to Heather Braman before submission.
THEME: All artwork will be focused on an exploration of the themes in Laura Fisher’s work: The passage of time, dualities of life/death and youth/age, as well as the importance of unconditional love and personal relationships.
ABOUT LAURA
Laura Fisher began teaching at LSC-CyFair in 2008. She served as the art department chair and professor of painting and drawing from 2012-2017. She was also the art editor for “The Barker’s Voice: A Journal of Arts and Letters.” After her passing, the Aspiring Artists Endowment was established in her honor, with the goal of awarding student scholarships once it is fully funded.
