The application period for fall 2025 will open in mid-January.
Students are accepted into the program on a competitive basis. Students accepted into the program are those who score highest on the Applicant Scoring Sheet established by the program admissions committee.
The following items are REQUIRED to apply to the Surgical Technology program. They should be completed during the application window (January through April).
- Advising Form
- Background check - Background check must be ordered from CastleBranch. Select package code LD48bg to order the background check for the Surgical Technology program.
- Health History/Physical Exam Form - Students need to purchase package code LD48im from CastleBranch (medical document manager) and upload this form.
The following items are OPTIONAL. Students can earn additional points on the applicant scoring sheet by submitting the following:
- Proof of required immunizations/titers. Upload to your CastleBranch Medical Document Manager.
- Proof of CPR. Required course is American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals. Upload to your CastleBranch Medical Document Manager.
- Biosketch which contains information related to your life preparation for this program, previous work experience and/or relevant certifications. Upload to the program application.
Students only need to upload the physical exam form, immunization records and CPR card to the CastleBranch Medical Document Manager. Students do NOT need to upload other requirements listed (proof of health insurance, TB test, flu shot or the program forms). If the student is accepted into the program, these items will be required at a later date.
All applicants are highly encouraged to attend at least one information session prior to applying to the Surgical Technology program. Date and times for the information sessions are located on the department’s web page.
VI.A.2.1. Health Occupation Programs Admissions Policy - Health Occupation Programs do not consider applications from Prospective Students not at least 18 years old at the time of the program application's deadline - except that LSC-Tomball may honor a current contractual obligation with Klein ISD requiring the admission of students below the age of 18 years old. Any applicant that willfully misrepresents Material Information on the application will not be accepted or conditionally remain in a Health Occupation Program.
