The HealthyU is an educational outreach program dedicated to developing prevention activities that empower students to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. The HealthyU program sponsors the 21st Birthday Campaign, campus safety activities, the Mental Health & Wellness Fair, various drug & alcohol prevention activities, and the Red Flag Campaign.

Alcohol and drug use are a serious public health concern on many college campuses. The most used substances among college students include alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug misuse. Research tells us that students who choose to drink or use drugs are more likely to experience negative consequences such as legal issues, accidents/injuries, risk for sexual assault, academic problems, and even death.

Drug and Alcohol Prevention Activities
The HealthyU program provides a variety of outreach activities designed to educate the campus community about the dangers of drugs and alcohol use, associated risk and consequences of drug and alcohol use, and access to resources and treatment.
21st Birthday Campaign
The 21st Birthday campaign is designed to encourage students to think about the choices they make regarding alcohol consumption on their 21st Birthday. We encourage students who choose to drink to take time to learn how alcohol affects their bodies (Know Your Limit) and to plan ahead (Party Smart) so they can be safe.
National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week
During the third full week in October, HealthyU will host educational activities designed to raise awareness of alcohol related issues on college campuses.

HealthyU sponsors educational activities designed to raise awareness of alcohol abuse, alcoholism, and recovery during the month of April.
Educational and Awareness Tables
Throughout the year, HealthyU will have staffed and unstaffed informational tables around campus with self-help resources.
Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence Prevention
Lone Star College-Tomball is committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment for all community members. Sexual Assault & Relationship Violence Prevention activities
During Domestic Violence Prevention month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month, HealthyU collaborates with campus and community resources to promote a safe and positive learning environment for all community members. HealthyU offers a variety of prevention activities on topics such as consent, sexual assault and relationship violence, stalking and sexual harassment.
- Red Flag Campaign
The Red Flag Campaign is a national public awareness campaign that raises awareness about dating violence. Every October and April, the HealthyU program will sponsor a one week campaign that includes informational posters across the campus that educates the college community on how to recognize the “red flags” of dating violence in their lives as well as the lives of their family and friends.
- Empty Chair Campaign
This event is designed to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking on college campuses.

Mental Health & Emotional Wellness
Many college students experience a mental health episode during their college career. Some commonly reported mental health conditions of college students include anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation.
