Components of Internal Control

The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) released its Internal Control - Integrated Framework in 1992. It is recognized as a leading framework for designing, implementing and conducting internal control and assessing the effectiveness of internal control.

Internal Control Integrated Framework

Internal control helps entities achieve important objectives and sustain and improve performance. COSO's Internal Control - Integrated Framework ("Framework") enables entities to effectively and efficiently develop systems of internal control that adapt to changing business and operating environments, mitigate risks to acceptable levels, and support sound decision-making and governance of the entity.
