    1. The ceremony will start at 3:00 p.m. and is expected to last between 1 to 1.5 hours.
  5. Can a student attend both the campus and Spanish language ceremonies?
    1. Yes. Students eligible for graduation from the recent academic terms at Lone Star College can attend this ceremony, provided they express interest and register accordingly.
  6. How much does it cost to participate in the Spanish Language Commencement Ceremony?
    1. There is no fee for participation as a student or spectator. Free parking is also available at the venue.
  7. When should participants plan to arrive?
    1. Registered students should plan to arrive by 2:00 p.m. for the processional lineup which begins at 2:30 p.m.

Graduation Caps

Graduates may decorate their caps however we ask that you follow these guidelines

Graduation Gowns

All students participating in the Spanish Commencement Ceremony must wear a black cap & gown. Caps & gowns may be purchased from any vendor, borrowed from a previous graduate or family member, or loaned out by the LSC-Office of Student Engagement. If you need assistance, please contact LSC-Student Engagement  at LSC-Student.Engagement@lonestar.edu.

College Approved Stoles, Cords, and Tassels

All graduates who have earned stoles, cords and tassels through the following academic achievement organizations, may wear the college-approved stoles, cords and/or tassels. 

  • Early High School 
  • Honors College
  • Phi Theta Kappa
  • Psi Beta Psychology Honor Society
  • Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society
  • Student Success Institute (SSI)
  • TRIO
  • Veterans

Livestream and Photographs

The Spanish Commencement Ceremony will be livestreamed. A link with access to the livestream will be posted here closer to the ceremony. 

Flash Photography will be on hand to photograph graduates at the Commencement ceremony. Graduates will be able to purchase photos directly from Flash Photography.

Mandatory Graduation Orientation

The Office of Student Engagement will hosted a Mandatory Graduation Orientation for students participating in the Spanish Commencement Ceremony via WebEx. Students were provided with important information and guidelines including arrival times, ceremony length, caps & gowns, grad photos and much more. More information about this meeting will be posted here closer to its date.
