Community service is one of the best ways to help benefit the public or give back to your community. It not only has positive effects on society, but it will benefit your life and personal development.
- Humanitarian: A student who cares about people and often participates in charity or does good work to show that care.
- Volunteerism: Students engage in activities emphasizing service for the sake of the beneficiary or recipient (client, partner).
- Community Service: Students engage in activities to meet actual community needs as an integrated aspect of the curriculum.

The Office of Student Life at Lone Star College-University Park organizes community service events throughout the year for students, registered student organizations, and all LSC UP community members to get involved in. As those opportunities present themselves, we will post them on the website.
In the meantime, you don’t have to wait for Student Life to present the opportunity; you can get involved now by volunteering in your community. Here are some options to consider.
