As the son of two public school teachers who dedicated their lives to the education of students, I am proud to be able to build upon their positive example and legacy of educating students. I've been an educator for 27 years and my students continue to teach me as much as I could ever teach them. My success stories exist in the personal successes of the students that have been in my courses. As a teacher, I may never know the impact I've had on the lives of students, but I am certain that each and every student I've had has changed my life for the better.
“America is comprised of a myriad of ethnicities and cultures. It makes me happy to know that there is a period of the year where the contributions of African Americans will be purposefully shared with others. Black history is American history and should be celebrated all year long.”
