Our commitment to advocating for equity and foster inclusion is demonstrated through our effort to provide education, supportive networks and resources for our LGBTQ + community. These efforts enable us to foster and sustain a culture of inclusivity.
Safe Zone Resource
During your on-campus experience at LSC-Kingwood, you will find various spaces posted with Safe Zone stickers. This means there are Safe Zone certified allies who are present. Our Safe Zone Allies are employees who have successfully completed the Safe Zone Ally awareness training and have agreed to be part of our on-campus ally network supporting our LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and asexual) community. Our Safe Zone allies can share information regarding sexuality, gender identity, campus and community resources, and assistance with reporting harassment and/or discrimination. We Use Pronouns – It’s Fundamental
We believe using a person's correct gender pronouns is the most fundamental way to demonstrate respect. We embrace sharing and using pronouns as part of our commitment to creating and sustaining our inclusive environment. Of course, it is not required, but we believe it is a fundamental step in building connectedness in our campus community.
